🇨🇳 🤝 🇧🇩 "Bangladesh and China will conduct their first-ever joint military exercises in early May."
👮♂️ Chinese Defense Ministry Spokesperson Senior Colonel Wu Qian said in Beijing on April 25 that the joint drill in Bangladesh, which is “based on United Nations peacekeeping anti-terrorism operations” will see the two sides participate in joint exercises “such as the rescue of hostages on buses and the clean-up of terrorist camps.”
🇮🇳 Although Bangladesh and India have held 11 military drills between 2009 and 2023, the Sino-Bangladeshi exercises have raised several concerns over their implications for Bangladesh and India-Bangladesh relations. Is Bangladesh gradually distancing itself from India and seeking closer ties with China? Is it time for India to reconsider its relationship with Bangladesh? Will Bangladesh become a victim of Sino-Indian tensions?
🇲🇲 On another front, Bangladesh currently hosts nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees following their flight from Myanmar in 2017. China has offered assistance in repatriating them to Myanmar, but the issue remains unresolved. Bangladesh may seek to engage with China on this matter through cooperation in military drills.

China-Bangladesh Military Exercises Signal Shifting Geopolitical Landscape
China has announced the first-ever joint military exercises with Bangladesh to be held early this month. Should India worry?
🇺🇸 🇵🇭 🇹🇼 US and Philippine forces stage combat drills near strategic channel off southern Taiwan
🔶️ U.S. Marines and their Filipino counterparts darted out of Black Hawk helicopters during combat drills Monday in the Philippines’ northernmost island town along the strategic Bashi Channel off southern Taiwan — a flashpoint in the military rivalry between Washington and Beijing.
🔶️ The show of allied battle readiness in Itbayat in Batanes province is part of annual military exercises that started last month, dubbed Balikatan, Tagalog for “shoulder-to-shoulder,” and involving more than 16,000 American and Philippine military personnel.
🔶️ In Monday’s mock battle scenario, American and Filipino forces took positions at the airfield, ringed by low-lying hills, as three Army CH-47 Chinook helicopters landed to deliver combat supplies.
🔶️ “We are absolutely battle-ready and that’s what we train for day in and day out,” Marine Maj. Robert Patterson said. “It’s important to enhance inter-operability with our Filipino counterparts.”

🛡 🇺🇸 Divisions in the Dirt: The Army’s plan for the next big war.
🔶️ Many of those at the training exercise, which took place in January, spent their careers fighting insurgencies and terrorist groups in brigades of perhaps 4,000 soldiers or even smaller units. That was by design. The Army converted to a modular brigade combat team formation in the early 2000s for a more nimble global force.
🔶️ But, as the U.S. shifted its focus toward adversaries such as China, Russia, Iran and North Korea, the Army had to examine its role, and how it would fit into the new strategy. The Army sees its role as providing major ground combat power for large-scale combat operations. To do that, they’ll have to fight with divisions and corps — which range from 12,000 to 45,000 soldiers, respectively. Those formations’ headquarters units will orchestrate the battle, striking deep with long-range fires, attack aircraft and hooking into joint capabilities from the Air Force, Navy and Marines.
🔶️ The last time the service fought with a division was in the 2003 Iraq invasion. Before that, the last major combat operation of that scale was in 1991 during the Persian Gulf War.
🔶️ The Army spent a generation fighting one kind of war against terrorists and insurgents. To do that, it shelved its skills on moving big units across big battlefields fighting a big enemy.
🔶️ The 1st Armored Division’s rotation is the service’s first tangible step toward relearning how to fight big wars.

After decades of being a brigade-focused Army, the shift is on to the division fight. Training will only get tougher.
🗳 🇩🇪 🇷🇺 German conservatives vote for compulsory military service
🔶️ The German conservatives on Tuesday voted in favour of restoring compulsory military service as the country aims to revive its army in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
🔶️ The CDU-CSU alliance, currently Germany’s largest opposition party, approved a motion tabled by its youth wing at a party conference calling for a temporary return to conscription.
🔶️ Germany suspended compulsory military service in 2011, but the conflict in Ukraine has reignited the debate around whether young men and women should be required to fight for their country.
🔶️ Compulsory military service would be “a visible sign to Russia and others” that Germany is seriously prepared to defend itself, he said.

⚜️ 🇺🇸 📝 The Boy Scouts of America Forged Great Men | CIG #commentary
✝️ Scouting is first & foremost a Christian feeder organization which trains leaders. Their roots are European, sharing common ancestry with the Hitlerjugend, originating from the Wandervögel, of the 19th century Völkisch movement in Germany.
🚀 The BSA procured the finest US statesmen of the 20th century, the best servicemen, policemen, firemen and Apollo's astronauts. These men were the face of America's civic role models. Each of them began as boy testing his strength, wit and willpower.
🏥 Most Nationalist Americans you see today are former Boy Scouts, they are cut from the same cloth. Each of them spent their time on firing ranges, wilderness survival ordeals and red cross training courses. They gave back to their community at every opportunity and operated directly within their Churches.
⚜️ It is because of who they are, that Anti-American forces destroyed them. This is where boys became men, where the devout defended against the sinful, it is where ambition broke old boundaries and new barriers. Destruction and evil which have befallen them will be vanquished. The youth of America will be re-built from the ground up to light a future of hope, prosperity and championship.
The strongest steel is forged by the fires of hell. It is pounded and struck repeatedly before it's plunged back into the molten fire. The fire gives it power and flexibility, and the blows give it STRENGTH. Those two thing make the metal pliable and able to withstand every battle it's called upon to fight. - Sherrilyn Kenyon
