⚡️🇪🇬🇷🇺 The Russian Ambassador to Egypt, Mr.Grigori Borisinko, congratulates Egypt on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 war.

The script, as he wrote it, is as follows.

"Dear Egyptian friends!

We congratulate you at the heart of the heart on the occasion of the Great Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt - the Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated on October 6 on the occasion of the heroic military victory in 1973. After 50 years, it remains a bright symbol of the courage and patriotism.

This Egyptian anniversary finds a wide response in Russia. In those crucial days, our country stood with Egypt in full support in defending its sovereignty. On the other hand, several generations of Egyptians retained a grateful memory that the road to victory was paved with the help of Soviet weapons and military specialists.

Peace and prosperity for the Egyptian people!
Long live the Russian -Egyptian friendship!"

Well, thank you Mr.Ambassador, I guess, but this is also interesting for one other reason.

1) Russia never considered the 1973 war as a "victory", they actually refrained from describing it as such in an official diplomatic setting because the Russian diaspora is one of the largest in Israel, so describing it as a victory may sour public opinion.

2) The USSR lost all of its bases, influence, and power in Egypt directly due to the 1973 war.

3) Russia actually advised Egypt against the war, and kept egging them for a ceasefire when it happened.

🇪🇺 🇺🇸 🇺🇦 EU to US: Help, we can’t cope without you on Ukraine

🔷️ Bloc’s foreign policy chief says Europe can’t compensate if Washington drops support for Kyiv.

🔷️ Top EU officials have a message for Washington after Republican lawmakers blocked a new aid package for Ukraine: We need you to help Kyiv hold its own against Russia.

🔷️ “Europe cannot fill the gap of the U.S.,” he told journalists a few days after congressional Republicans refused to approve a stopgap funding measure for Kyiv.

🔷️ European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen struck a similar tone, underscoring that the EU plans to approve €50 billion in support for Ukraine in the coming months but that Washington’s help remains crucial.

🇺🇸 🇺🇦 Future of Ukraine aid ‘depends on who is the speaker’

Marco Rubio: “I also think it's unrealistic to believe that we're going to be able to continue to provide $30-$60 billion every six months. This effort has gotten less popular, not more popular for a variety of reasons,” Rubio said. “I don't think that this policy that some believe — that we're going to do as much as it takes for as long as it takes — is either wise or realistic. Hopefully, that’s the debate we’ll have in Congress over the next few weeks.”

🇦🇺 🇺🇸 🇨🇳 The Australian Army and the transformation of US land forces in the Indo-Pacific

🔶️ The re-emergence of great-power competition and a deteriorating strategic environment are forcing the US Army to rethink not just its approach to land warfare but also its future role alongside the US Marine Corps in key regions around the globe. Nowhere is this transformation more apparent and meaningful than in the Indo-Pacific, where the People’s Republic of China poses the most acute challenges.

🔶️ A new ASPI report, US land power in the Indo-Pacific: opportunities for the Australian Army, released today, finds that the implementation of the US Army’s multi-domain operations doctrine and reorganisation is driving a greater emphasis on joint exercises and ensuring there are no gaps in defence cooperation among allies and partners in deterring Chinese aggression.

🇺🇸🗯🇺🇸🔫📉🇬🇧 Reuters | NATO urges arms production boost as warehouses 'half full' | October 4, 2023:

"WARSAW, Oct 4 (Reuters) - The arms industry needs to ramp up weapons and ammunition production as "the bottom of the barrel is now visible" due to the war in Ukraine, NATO Military Committee head Admiral Rob Bauer said on Tuesday.

NATO has been pressing for a boost in defence production to satisfy a demand for weapons and equipment that has soared since Russia's February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, as allies not only rush supplies to Kyiv but also build up their own inventories.

Speaking on the first day of the Warsaw Security Forum, Bauer said budgets had already risen years before the war, but the industry had not increased production capacity."

🇺🇦🥵🏴 ZeroHedge | Zelensky Admits 'War Fatigue' As Unified Support From West Falls Apart | Oct 05, 2023:

"There's clearly been a Ukraine war narrative shift among media and pundits in the West, as we've been covering, but for the first time this week President Zelensky himself has admitted that "fatigue" is setting in more broadly amid the war effort. This is leading Western advisers and military strategists to float 'solutions' toward winding down the conflict:

According to Teona Lavrelashvili, an analyst at the European Politics Centre, they could signal that several allies are ready for a "pragmatic solution" to the end of the war,.

But Kyiv will be "worried but not panicking" by the growing sense that some traditional allies have "fallen out of step", said Sean Hanley, an associate professor in Comparative Central and East European Politics at University College London."

🇵🇪🇺🇸 Congress of Peru approved Legislative Resolution 6018, which allows the entry of US naval units and military personnel with weapons of war into Peru.

🇪🇨🇺🇸 On Tuesday, Ecuador and the US sealed an agreement allowing the arrival of US military personnel to the South American country to combat the growing wave of crime and hitmen.

Foreign Minister Gustavo Manrique clarified in a press conference that this does not mean the installation of US troops in the country but rather that "they enter short-term periods, carry out operations and withdraw" and stressed that these operations will be coordinated and monitored by the Ecuadorian authorities “so as not to lose sovereignty.”
🇷🇺 Top quotes from Vladimir Putin at the Valdai Club meeting:

“BRICS doesn't need a single currency, yet. Instead, it needs to establish a settlement system in national currencies.”

“NATO is, first and foremost, a tool of U.S. foreign policy."

“We will expand our interaction with China in the security sphere”

“Russia’s budget deficit will be 1% of GDP this year and next year”

“Western influence over the world is a giant Ponzi scheme."

“The desire to drive the world into a situation of constant confrontation between 'us' and 'them' is a vicious legacy of the 20th century and Western political culture. The West always needs an enemy."
