339 STUDENTS BAG FIRST CLASS, THE HIGHEST IN THE HISTORY OF NIGERIA AND THE SCHOOL AS COVENANT UNIVERSITY GRADUATES 1,607 STUDENTS
Covenant University, Ota, Nigerian Best University graduates 1607 students comprising of 1456 undergraduates and 151 post graduates students.
The Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Prof. A.H. Adebayo while giving his speech during the 19th Convocation Ceremony "THE RELEASE OF EAGLES 2024" held today, Friday 11th October, 2024 announced that 339 undergraduate students came out with First Class Honours. Church Gist. According to him, this was the highest since the inception of the University. 762 came out with Second Class Upper; 330 with Second Class Lower while 25 came out with Third Class.
He also noted that 41 graduated at the Ph.D level, 6 from MBA, 91 from M.Sc, 9 from M.Eng and 4 from M.A making it a total of 151 post graduate students.
He also stated that Covenant University was ranked according to the Times Higher Education University World Ranking as Number 1 in Nigeria, 1st in West Africa, 6th in Sub-Saharan Africa and ranked among the top 1000 Universities in the World. Church Gist. According to QS World University Sustainability Rankings 2024, Covenant University is ranked 273 in Governance, 409 in Environmental Sustainability and 891 in Environmental Impact.
The University was also ranked as among the top 9 percent of the Best value University World Rankings for International Students according to Study Abroad Aide. Church Gist. The School was also ranked among the top 500 universities in Social Sciences, top 600 in Computer Science and top 800 in Physical Sciences.
In attendance was the Chancellor and Chairman Board of Regents, Dr. David Oyedepo; Vice President - Education, Pastor Mrs. Faith Oyedepo; Pro-Chancellor, Bishop David Abioye; Secretary to the Board of Regents, Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr and other dignitaries.
