we would like to talk about burner environments and communities and communities that intersect with them

we would like to talk about how we and others can be safe where we are

we believed that people calling themselves burners were intending safety in our interactions

and then we found out we were the only burners left in service

because all the other burners would not stand up to stop violence

There are variety of us who can answer questions about this and max can too Ty asking questions in this space because questions help all a lot
are you saying to just ask here in the group? ok...

what is a burner environment?

what is a burner community?

what is a community that intersects with them? (maybe a description or an example, idk)

how is "safe where you are" even a possibility being considered; i have a hard time seeing why that is even on the table

what does it mean that people were calling themselves burners?

so is a burner community a local bunch of people who one has met out in the desert somewhere at one of these events, and the attendees call themselves burners and they sort of identify with the stated values of that burning man web site, and try to stay in touch afterwards locally, or i guess in between those big gatherings? and that's the "community" aspect you're talking about?

and what does it mean that you were the only burners in service? this is a lot of fire lingo i'm not getting.
A lot of burners talk big about being in service and being aware of others needs and including people and operating based on kindness but if burners leave vulnerable members of their communities to human traffickers then service or kindness is not really who they are or what they're doing, they are not in service, something is gone wrong
There are pathways by which burners are either aware or not aware that vulnerable members of their communities are handed off to known active human trafficking operations
When vulnerable people try to talk about this in community with the caring people they thought they were involved with, they are shut down and silenced so that trafficking operatives can pick them up.
