UPDATE FROM BURNING MAN
This woman works for the hospital on site at Burning Man. The only thing of real concern seems to be her dreads.
βͺοΈThey have zero people coming in with Ebola or even Ebola-like symptoms.
βͺοΈFEMA is not on site.
βͺοΈThere is no fence being put up around the perimeter.
βͺοΈThe government is not life fighting MREs to stranded people. π
The playa flooded due to the storm, and people are waiting it out. One person reportedly got violently sick from eating a scorpion, and the one death being reported was due to a man being swept up in debris during the storm who allegedly drowned. The death is still under investigation.

Burning Man has become the public version of another lesser-known higher-impact solstice shindig where kings, Congressmen, Bonesmen, and Brothers Templar rollick in the redwood grove of Northern Californiaβs Bohemian Club. The arch aim of the awful affair is the manifestation of a mass fire ritual on the last night of the bacchanal jaunt in which a massive wooden statue known as "The Man" reaching up to well over 100 feet into the desert sky is set ablaze in the cremation of care, death of the old, and rebirth of the new. Patently pagan. Awkwardly American. Grievously vulgar.
