"This is another one I visited monday on the Thames Rotherhithe pretty much opposite The Prospect of Whitby and near the Mayflower.

The Site of Edward the III's manor house is opposite with the remnants of an old stone wall from the 1700's still on the green.

The riverside terrace closed whilst I was there due to a high tide but I still got this view of the Thames from it." — TRR Admin

This glorious, historic #SamSmiths pub, packed with history and charm was a dangerous place whichever side of the law you was on.

This painting by Charles William Wyllie depicts the Angel pub in #Rotherhithe, South #London (c.1887) [101 #Bermondsey Wall E, #London #SE16]. Like many riverside pubs, it was a den of cut-throats & press gangs. It sits on what was once the manor house of King Edward III (1300s).
