I've seen people (Curt Doolittle primarily) speculating about the asymmetric cost/impact of an attack on Western nations' power grids, and this was *before* the extreme energy crisis we are going to see in Europe this winter. I can only imagine what infrastructure damage would do while everyone is already freezing...π¬

It's shocking how low-effort this stuff is now. Hollywood used to create quality content and insert their themes in a more subtle way. I guess we are witnessing the rise of the millennial generation in entertainment production. Boomers and Gen X were actually talented and clever. Millennials...not so much.

There's nothing more insane to me than people who donate money to universities. It's like donating money to Microsoft or Nabisco. Universities use emotional associations ("Remember all the fun times you had with your friends on campus?") to get midwits to write checks. And what do you get in return? Typically it's something like your name inscribed on a brick somewhere. Your kids aren't going to be given any favors from the admissions office if they're white.
