BiT-Career Development Center has delivered a second round training for academic staff

As a voluntary service, BiT-Career Development Center has delivered second round training for BiT academic staff from March 03 to 05, 2023 at Jan-Moscov Library. The training is about "Facilitation skill, Foundational skill, Voluntarism, Networking skill and self-branding”.
The training is delivered by Mr. Habtamu Alemayehu, Lydia Kitaw(MD) and Kalkidan Esayas(Ph.D.) again. There were about 15 trainees for this round.
According to the Coordinator's Explanation, the aim of the training is to capacitate academic staff through delivering ToT and enable to engage at the center.
As a remark, the Coordinator requested trainees to volunteer and exercise their technical and soft skills for our students at the center.

Career Visit was prepared 420km away from the Bahir Dar city

BiT is going to underway to accreditation process for four department namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. As a service provider in BiT, the center has been admired by career visit program. Hence the center prepared a visit for academia which can touches multi-discipline.
Monday ,6th of March 2023, visitors started their journey at 7:30pm LT. Everyone were excited and eager to reach the end of the 420km in west.
Academic staff,BSc students MSc students and PhD students are all in one bus having one goal in mind. It took hours and hours to get to the GERD. The career visit was started to the right side of the dam and got unbelievable view of the dam. Visitors witnessed the inspiration and motive of the workers in there, they are proud of what they do for there country.
The civil work for main dam is looking close to end. A 1.8km crust length main dam has started to generate a power in two turbines. The rest eleven will going to be started after getting 74B meter cubic of water.
In the next day, the career visit was continued to a 5km long saddle dam and power house. More than 90% of the saddle dam was constructed by crushed stone and bolders. The upstream is going function for seepage while the downstream is expected to handle stability issue.
After all, the last visit was to power house in which 375MW in each of two is going to produced. Mechanical Engineers have illustrated how potential energy is going to be converted to kinetic, mechanical and electrical energy at last.
This career visit has been one of the most memorable story for the center and the visitors as well. It has given many lessons to all. Such kinds of visit will be continued in ahead of time.
