In collaboration with Ministry of Labor and Skill- FDRE and supported by Mastercard Foundation and GIZ Ethiopia and Djibouti , a national workshop will be held on May 26 and 27, 2023.

To address the issue of graduate unemployment and improve the socioeconomic development of communities in Ethiopia, a national workshop will be held to explore strategies for revamping higher

education student success centers (Career Development centers and Business Incubation and Entrepreneurship centers).

The workshop aims to bring together experts, policymakers,and stakeholders to share best practices and develop a comprehensive roadmap toward supporting graduates in the transition from the world of education to work.

The workshop will focus on a number of crucial policy dimensions affecting the design and full implementation of incubation centers, including the goal and objectives of student success centers, success center funding and sustainability strategy, success center leadership and management,

monitoring, and appraisal of success centers, success center development, and women empowerment, strategies to promote success centers' ideas into enterprises, integrating and linking success centers with industries and development partners, and the focus and effectiveness of success centers in response to societal needs.

በዩኒቨርሲቲዎች የተመቻቹ የተማሪዎች የስኬት ማዕከላት ያሉበትን ደረጃ በማጠናከር ደረጃውን የጠበቀ አገልግሎት እንዲሰጡ ማገዝ ይቻል ዘንድ የምክክር መድረክ ተዘጋጅቷል።

ለወጣቶች የሥራ ዕድል ፈጠራ አስፈላጊ የሆነውን እና ለሁለት ቀናት የሚቆየውን ውይይት በንግግር የከፈቱት የሥራና ክህሎት ሚኒስቴር የሥራ፣ ሥራ ስምሪት እና ገበያ ዘርፍ ሚኒስትር ዴኤታ ክቡር አቶ ንጉሡ ጥላሁን ናቸው።

በንግግራቸውም በዩኒቨርሲቲዎች የስኬት ማዕከላትን ማስፋፋት ለሥራው ዓለም ብቁ ዜጋ የማፍራት ተግባር ሲሆን መንግስት የሥራ ፈጠራ ስነምህዳሩን ለማስፋት ከሚያደርገው ምቹ ሁኔታ የመፍጠር እንቅስቃሴ ውስጥ ተጠቃሽ ነው ብለዋል።

የውይይት መድረኩ የተዘጋጀው በሁሉም ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ማዕከላቱ ተከፍተው እና ጎልብተው ምሩቃን ሥራ ፈጥረው የሚወጡበት ምቹ ሁኔታ እንዲኖር መልካም አጋጣሚዎች እና ተግዳሮቶች ላይ መክሮ ማዕከላቱ ደረጃቸውን ጠብቀው እንዲመሩ መሆኑን ተናግረዋል።

ከዩኒቨርሲቲዎች የተሻለ ጅምር ላይ ያሉ እንደ ባህርዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ምሩቃን ኢንተርፕራይዝ መስርተው የሚወጡባቸው መኖራቸውን በመጥቀስ ተስፋ ሰጪ ጅምሮች መኖራቸውን የተናገሩት ክቡር አቶ ንጉሡ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎቹ ማዕከላቱን ከማቋቋምና ከማጠናከር ባሻገር የምሩቃንን የሥራ ዕድል ችግር የሚፈቱ የምርምር ሥራዎችን እንዲያበረክቱ ጠይቀዋል።

60ኛ ዓመቱን እያከበረ የሚገኘው ባህርዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከሥራና ክህሎት ሚኒስቴር ጋር በመተባበር መድረኩን በማዘጋጀቱ እና ማስተርካርድ ፋውንዴሽን እና በጂ.አይ.ዜድ ድጋፍ በማድረጋቸውም ተመስግነዋል።

በመድረኩ የተለያዩ የፖሊሲ አማራጮችን በመፈተሽ ፣ የተማሪዎች የልህቀት ማዕከላትን ግብ የሚያመላከት ስትራቴጂ መንደፍ እንዲቻል የሚጠቅሙ ሃሳቦች የሚነሱበት ሲሆን የተለያዩ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች፣ ጉዳዩ የሚመለከታቸው ኤጀንሲዎች፣ ኢንዱስትሪዎች፣ የልማት አጋሮች እና ባለድርሻ አካላት እንዲሁም የፋይናንስ ተቋማት ተወካዮች ተሳትፈውበታል።
A National workshop on strategies to revamp student success centers in higher education institution has been closed yesterday at UNISON Hotel, Bahir Dar.

Yesterday the workshop was resumed by Keynote speeches from invited individuals and panel discussions on how to support the incubated students, encourage them joining the ecosystem quickly so as to accelerate their prototype to business so that they might not become fund oriented.

Then after, testimony from successful entrepreneurs was heard from manufacturing of 3D printing technology and Ageligile Echo-packing Production Company. Then the floor was opened to panel discussion entitled as strategies for success centers financing, resource provision and capacitating.

The way forward Mrs. Alemtsehay Dersolign, innovative jobs development desk manager, ministry of labor and skills have mentioned the following points regarding to student success center (SSC). SSC should have its own policies and strategies in the meantime, it should include employability and work readiness skill, innovation associations should be formed, SSC management software will be established in the near future, startup programs are highly encouraged and working with cooperative ministry offices is unquestionable.

Dr. Bimrew Tamrat, BiT Scientific Director, has delivered a closing speech by mentioning BiTec, CDC and ELIC experience. He proudly spoke that those centers are competent enough and strongly suggests that all concerned bodies should support them. In addition, Dr.Bemirew said that uniform communication channel among incubation centers, developing workshops relating universities with companies, policies and strategies for centers should be beyond discussion.

Following that, certificate of appreciation was given to organizers, moderators and other bodies that play a magnificent role for this successful event. Finally, the officials from ministry offices, government and non-government organizations and distinguished guests visited BiTec (Business Incubation and Techno- Entrepreneurship Center), CDC ad STEM Centers.
