------------------------------
Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT), one of the largest and well-known public universities in Ethiopia, has hosted a kickoff event for a full stack development training program in collaboration with Minab Tech, a leading software development company. The training program aims to equip students with technical skills that are in high demand in the software industry.

The event featured speeches from BiT's Career Development Center Coordinator, Habtamu Alemayehu, who welcomed the participants and explained the objectives and benefits of the training program. He also announced that the training program will last for three months and will cover various topics such as web development, database management, cloud computing, and software engineering principles.

The event also included testimonies from students who participated in the previous training program last year and shared their experiences and achievements. They highlighted how the training program helped them improve their skills, confidence, and employability in the software sector.

Michael Sahlu, Cofounder and CTO of Minab Tech, gave an overview of the full stack development training journey and explained the qualification and prerequisite criteria, the subject areas, and the expectations from the trainees. He also emphasized the importance of this training program for bridging the gap between graduates and employers in the software industry.
Dawit Mulugeta, Senior Advisor at Ministry of Labor and Skills, presented on soft skill training and gave tips on job search, resume writing, interview preparation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Kalab Mezgebu, the co-founder and CEO of Minab Tech, shared his advice on career path and progression in the software field. He drew from his own experience as a tech professional and entrepreneur and gave insights on how to choose a career path, advance in skills and knowledge, and network with other professionals in the field.

The event concluded with a closing remark from Dr. Mekuanint Agegnehu, the deputy scientific director for research and community service at BiT-BDU. He thanked Minab Tech and BiT-BDU-CDC for organizing this training program and expressed his hope that it would contribute to the development of human capital in the software sector. He also urged the students to participate actively in the training program and apply what they learn to real-world problems.
