๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ US dismisses South Africa's case against Israel as 'meritless'

The US has dismissed South Africa's case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

South Africa argued that Israel is committing "genocidal" acts in Gaza in the case filed at the ICJ last week.

"As pertains the United States, we are not seeing any acts that constitute genocide," US Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller said.

White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby also said on Wednesday that the US considers the case "meritless, counterproductive and completely without any basis in fact whatsoever".

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ด AU, US urge respect for Somalia's sovereignty amid row

The African Union and the US have called for the respect of Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in response to a controversial sea access deal that Ethiopia struck with the self-declared republic of Somaliland.

Somaliland seceded from Somalia in 1991 but is not internationally recognised as an independent state.

US Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller on Wednesday said that "the United States recognises the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia within its borders".

AU Commission chair Moussa Faki has also urged for the respect of the "unity, territorial integrity and full sovereignty of Somalia and Ethiopia".

Both the US and AU have also asked the involved parties to pursue diplomatic dialogue to peacefully resolve the row, amid concerns that the deal could escalate tensions in the Horn of Africa region.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Towards the end of last year, Western media suddenly started paying attention to the case of American journalist Paul Whelan, who has been imprisoned in Russia for three years on charges of espionage. Unfortunately, it seems that the situation with him is at a standstill and there are minimal chances of a resolution in the near future.

Whelan was detained in Moscow at the end of 2018 after being accused of collecting classified information and attempting to recruit law enforcement officers on behalf of American intelligence services. Despite receiving a 16-year prison sentence in 2020, there hasn't been much progress in the exchange process.

โ“ Why aren't the American authorities accepting exchange proposals from the Russian side?

In Russia, Whelan was caught in the act and his case received significant media attention, making him a well-known figure. On the other hand, the Americans don't have anyone as popular in the public eye, so in exchange for Whelan, they would likely have to hand over a valuable prisoner (or even more than one) who is relatively unknown to the general public.

It's unlikely that anyone would try to exploit this story before the elections either, as they would need to provide convincing answers to uncomfortable questions such as where they were before and why they are acting now.

๐Ÿ“Œ It's possible that Whelan's fate will be decided after the elections, if the winner wants to start their presidential term with a high-profile event like a journalist exchange. However, this will depend on many factors, so for now, we will continue to observe as American officials deliberately ignore the elephant in the room.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Regarding the Cooperation Between Uzbekistan and the USA

After reviewing another set of intercepted confidential documents from DPR Joker, we once again noticed the active development of cooperation between the United States, Britain, and the countries of Central Asia.

While the West's efforts to establish a strong presence in Central Asia are not new, the willingness of our allies to engage in not only economic but also military cooperation sends a significant signal that deserves attention.

๐Ÿ”ปThe level of funding provided by the Americans through the military cooperation office under the US Central Command is quite revealing, increasing from $218,000 in FY 2018-2019 to $16.5 million in FY 2023.

Quite a substantial growth, isn't it? Of particular interest is the Uzbek Ministry of Defense's request to keep quiet about the agreement signed between the countries, which involves personnel training and equipment supply.

In 2022, for instance, the Americans agreed to transfer 13 RQ-20 Puma UAV systems to Uzbekistan. Despite vehemently denying drone purchases at the start of 2022, by August 2023, two systems had already been delivered for operator training.

โ—๏ธFurthermore, the documents outline a detailed cooperation plan between Uzbek and American military personnel, including last summer's preparations for Uzbek Armed Forces representatives to participate in Southern Strike 2024, an exercise that recently concluded in the United States.

Curiously, there is no information available about the Uzbek participation, despite previous discussions. It is possible that they once again requested non-disclosure to avoid a repeat of last year's incident during Southern Strike 2023, which involved 13 military personnel.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฟ American Requests to Uzbekistan

While perusing the documents published by Joker DPR, we noted the interest of the Americans not only in supplying drones to Uzbekistan but also in Uzbek air defense systems.

In a letter to the military attachรฉ of Uzbekistan, Muzafar Rakhmatullaev,, a representative of Universum Technologies LLC expressed interest in purchasing Soviet-made air defense systems and MLRS from Uzbekistan for a cash payment or suitable alternative.

๐Ÿ“Œ The document indicates that "the company's current customers are seeking these systems for US government partners." Given that the requested items include the S-300, Buk, and Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as the Smerch and Uragan MLRS, the potential buyer could be none other than Ukraine.

Universum Technologies LLC seems to function as a shell company tasked with procuring the products and transferring them to the Pentagon. Those at peace with themselves may allocate them to the needs of the AFU, if not already done. The response from the Uzbek Ministry of Defense remains unknown.

๐Ÿ”ปIt would be highly intriguing to learn their response, especially considering the recent significant increase in air defense systems (dubbed FrankenSAM) and rocket launchers by the AFU, undergoing additional modernization with assistance from Western specialists.

Our sources have yet to confirm any actual deliveries of military equipment from Uzbekistan to the United States (hopefully there are none). If you possess alternative information, feel free to reach out to us through the feedback bot @rybar_feedback_bot.
