➡️ According to Pro Rebel medias, 2,389 soldiers from Myanmar Army (Tatmadaw), including six Brigadeir generals, have surrendered to the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) in Kokang region, northern Shan State, in the largest single defeat for the junta since the 2021 coup against the Pro-West Government of Aung San Suu Kyi

➡️ The MNDAA rebels, which consists mainly of Myanmar's Han Chineses, said the whole of Kokang is a “regime-free zone” and "marks the beginning of the end of the Military dictatorship"

➡️ Meanwhile, almost 4,000 troops and their families were reportedly sent back to the regime in Lashio, the capital of northern Shan State, and elsewhere in the state.

➡️ This happens as part of the so-called Operation 1027, a nationwide offensive launched by dozens of Burmese rebel groups to seize the country's border regions and force Burmese Army garrisons in the countryside to capitulate.

➡️ The defeat of the Myanmar military regime in Kokang, although it is not the end of the world for the government, is a significant event, as the Myanmar-China border is no longer under the command of government troops.
