Aso Mamend, a senior PUK leader from Kirkuk: The KDP and the Sunnis want the situation to deteriorate in Kirkuk, but we will not sit back idly.

“What happened was not a demonstration, but a group of KDP-affiliated instigators who opened fire on security forces to destabilize the situation," he said.

Aso Mamendi, member of the PUK's political bureau, also said "We will not remain silent like before. If the situation is not brought under control soon, we will intervene instead of just spectating."

⚡️🇪🇬 The Prime Minister of Egypt officially issued a decision to collect residence fees in American Dollars, or any other currency that corresponds to the stated value, of 1,000 USD.

All Foreigners residing in Egypt have a set period to regularize and legalize their status and residency, the period is 3 months.

Any foreigner that applies to the General Directorate of Passports, Immigrations, and Nationality, to obtain a residency right for tourism or non-tourism activities, must submit a receipt and several other paperwork stating that they have paid off the fee of 1,000 US dollars or the equivalent to an accredited bank or exchange company in order to pay off the residency fee.

It also requires foreigners to cite an Egyptian host or employer for every foreigner inside of Egypt.

There is outrage from the Palestinian, Yemeni, and Syrian diaspora, where most of the citizens are made up of military-aged men who by their own admissions came here by smuggling or through illegal methods, failure to pay the residency fee or to legalize their presence would hinder their way in terms of government paperwork and may open up the path for deportation.

🇺🇳🇲🇱🇷🇺 UN sanctions in Mali to end after Russia blocks renewal

United Nations sanctions in Mali will end on Thursday after Russia vetoed a renewal of the regime that targeted anyone violating or obstructing a 2015 peace deal, hindering aid delivery, committing rights abuses or recruiting child soldiers.

Thirteen Security Council members voted in favor of a resolution, drafted by France and the United Arab Emirates, to extend the U.N. sanctions and independent monitoring for another year. Russia cast a veto, while China abstained from the vote.

Russia then instead proposed extending U.N. sanctions in Mali for one final year, but immediately ending the independent monitoring now. It was the only country to vote yes, while Japan voted no and the remaining 13 members abstained.

According to Kurdistan 24, a large amount of Iraqi soldiers and Humvees have occupied the streets of the city of Kirkuk. Adding that especially in Shorsh , Sarchina and Rahimawa neighborhoods. Moreover, Iraqi army has arrested many Kurdish youth with the excuse of the riots of yesterday that have taken place in Kirkuk. At least 40 Kurds so far have been arrested since yesterday evening.

To put a context, Kurds have protested against the closure of the Kirkuk-Erbil road by the PMF that blocked the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party). This event has resulted with four deaths and fifteen injuries. Immediately, Nechirvan Barzani and Masoud Barzani have called the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani in separated calls.
