Reaching the end of 2025, and man… it’s definitely been a year full of… things constantly happening.
With me quitting my retail job to finish out school, I’m gonna REALLY work on making consistent art/animation that’s made for the sake of my own enjoyment, first and foremost.
I realize I made a lot of art (not that I showed a lot of it off here, as it was mostly doodles and half baked parts of projects), but it wasn’t because I WANTED to, I HAD to… and… well it severely crippled my drive to make things for fun.
I felt that “If I can make something for fun, that could be time put into finishing this assignment. That can be done later, when this is all finished and polished.” which waaaaaasn’t the best of mindsets to have. On top of that, the stuff I was doing wasn’t really made for the audience of people my peers were, it was even not quite made for the community I spend my time in.
It was made for me.
To give myself a voice again, and to reignite my love for storytelling, for adventure and mystery, for action and drama, and just… getting my thoughts out about something I think would be cool.
True Blue, which is the project I am actively working on, is one of those things I WANT to make because I wanna tell a story that people can relate to while also feeling like they’re part of Silas’ journey.
It’s a project that is a look into my current perspective on a lot of the stuff we’ve been through, and how I’ve felt about it all… and it’s what I’m hoping will break me out of my bubble of not finishing work due to thinking none of my work holds value because of external factors. It has value because I value it.
The fact I’ve been trying to write and draw, hell, even ANIMATE stuff related to it because I can’t get it out my damn mind shows that it has value, and that should be what drives me.
… anyways, I also wanna reopen my commissions fully, with animation, sprite work, the whole shabang too. I miss making stuff for people, which… yea, kinda contradicts my whole spiel about trying to make things for myself over work more, but I wanna make stuff for folk too!
Not as an assignment, but as a guy who wants to bring your ideas to life! I love working with folk to bring ideas they’ve had in their head out and onto paper (or… screen… haha)!
I also wanna use this as a chance to hone my animation skills through making your silly guys move around and stuff! it’s hella fun animating, and while I’d start small, I wanna work up to being able to animate bigger ideas for yall AND for True Blue (I wanna make animated sprites, and *poooooooossibly* cutscenes? Count on the former, not so much the latter. ESPECIALLY with me being the sole contributor to this project…)
With ALL that said, uh… yea. Lotta thoughts I wanted to get out there. I’m hopeful that with all this newfound time on my hands, I can start enjoying making art again.

Quit my job to finish out school, Graduated for that, been doing decently with commission work (and am setting up a more organized schedule and method of opening up my full listing! Expecting more on that soon!), and most importantly, pushing myself to make stuff for this VN project I’ve had my sights on for damn near 3 years now!
I’m really excited for what’s to come, and while it’s a slow process (doing this alone certainly makes for a lot of work, but I’m gonna make an effort to look around for help in places so I can focus most on the writing and character artwork 😤✨).
Expect more content from me in the coming months!!! ✨
