Leah Anne CapeceLeah A. Capece, 58, of Canadensis passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono. Born in Jackson Heights, New York, she was the daughter of Mary (Valentine) Capece and the late Fabio Capece. Leah was the beloved wife of Douglas Scott Morgan with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. Leah worked for the Picatinny Arsenal and later built her own house cleaning business before becoming a devoted homemaker. She loved to garden and was a talented cook. Above all, Leah was an artist who saw the world through creative eyes and had an all-embracing knowledge of music. She loved animals and, most importantly, spending time with her cherished loved ones. Leah was 4' 11" and three quarters, and she didn't let you forget those three quarters. As Shakespeare once said, "Though she be but little, she is fierce."

Jeanne M. Manson, 75, of Canadensis passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Phillip and Mary Sullivan Manson she received a bachelor's degree from Emanual College in Boston and a PhD degree from Ohio State. A noted Teratologist Jeanne started her research at University of Cincinnati, continued at Glaxo Smith Kline, Merck, and ended at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She was a former member of the board of the Friendly Community Center, taught several stem classes at Barrett Paradise Friendly Library, and enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Paul NaumanPaul E. "Pop" Nauman, 95, a lifetime resident of the Cresco area, died Monday afternoon, September 11, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital - Monroe campus in Bartonsville. He was the husband of the late Gloria L. (Masker) Nauman with whom he shared 66 years of marriage at the time of her death on May 28, 2014.

The 9mm handgun was removed from the man’s backpack.

Francis DuffyFrancis Duffy Obituary Francis Gabriel Duffy, 85, of Cresco PA, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving children. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late George and Rose (Lenihan) Duffy. Francis was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine Marie (DiVecchia) Duffy. Francis worked as a computer numerical control programmer at Curtis Wright Flight Systems for years. He enjoyed being a liaison between the computer software and the machine shop workers. Francis graduated high school but was an autodidact who taught himself automobile mechanics, electrical and plumbing work, computer software programming, trigonometry, craps and most anything. At the height of his career he was recruited to teach as an Adjunct professor at Morris County Community College. In his retirement he found great joy in working as a reliable bus driver for the Pocono Mountain School District. He was loved by many that worked with him, the students and their families. Above all, Francis was a cherished family man and dedicated husband who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving man who often showed his love through acts of service.

LEGAL NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS – SALE OF REAL PROPERTY (993 Route 390 - Former Township Supervisor Building)LEGAL NOTICE INVITATION FOR BIDS – SALE OF REAL PROPERTY Barrett Township will accept sealed bids for the purchase of a parcel of real estate located at 993 Route 390, in Barrett Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, further identified as Monroe County Parcel ID No 01.14.1.35 and Map No. 01-6387-01-25-0954 (“Property”). The Property is approximately 0.85 acre in size and is improved with a building containing approximately 4,648 SF of GBA along with a paved parking area for approximately 20 vehicles. The building formerly served as the Township's main offices. The Property is located in the Mixed Use – Village (MU-V) Zoning District. The minimum bid amount is $400,000. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by earnest money in the form of a certified bank or cashier's check payable to Barrett Township in an amount of not less than 10% of the amount of the bid. Bidders who fail to include earnest money with their proposal package will immediately have their proposals rejected and will receive no further consideration. Earnest money will be promptly returned to all unsuccessful bidders. All bidders shall carefully review these terms. The successful bidder will be required to pay in full the purchase price for the Property within 60 days of acceptance of the bid.
