Composites Dynamic Responses under Extreme Environments;
#Multiphysics #Electromagnetic Modeling;
#Multifunctional Composites.
Candidates with strong background or interest in one or more of the following areas are considered.

Advanced Mechanics of Composite Materials;
#Polymer Composite Characterization and Manufacturing;
#Experimental or #Computational Solid Mechanics;
#FE #simulations with #ABAQUS with #user_subroutines, #COMSOL, #ANSYS (Q3D Extractor, Maxwell, HFSS), or other commercial software packages;
Proficiency in programming skills (#Python/#C++/#Fortran) is strong plus.

The #Syracuse Biomaterials Institute and the Departments of #Biomedical and #Chemical Engineering (BMCE) and #Mechanical and #Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research position, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2019.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, #materials science, mechanical engineering, #polymer science, or a closely-related discipline and demonstrate potential for excellence in research. Applicants should possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills, should be willing to drive a new project in a multidisciplinary research environment, and should have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following project areas: biofabrication; biophysics; cell culture; materials science, particularly polymer science; mechanobiology; theory and mechanics of materials; and traction force microscopy.

#Postdoctoral Position Available at Khalifa University: #Topology #Optimization


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a #PhD in a relevant discipline (Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, #Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics), and an established track record evident by publication in top quality journals. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is a must:
topology optimization, mechanics of #cellular #materials, #finite element #analysis, theoretical/#computational #multiscale mechanics of solid, and continuum mechanics.

Application submittal information:

Only applications providing all application requirements will be further considered. These requirements should be numbered and attached to the application following this order:

· applicant name and contact information,

· a curriculum vitae including list of publications, awards, with potential start date,

· Short statement of previous work and a description of your vision and your research plan

on that field (no more than one A4 page – but should be very high quality). It should clearly highlight a vision of the candidate in the field, a prior understanding of the related literature and the definition of key steps towards innovative results in the field.
