🚨🇷🇺 Russia’s New MS-21 Airliner Can Now Cover 90% of Domestic Routes

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has finally locked in the MS-21's flight range and it's enough to cover 90% of domestic routes.

During recent performance tests, the medium-haul MS-21 officially logged a range of over 3,800km with 175 passengers and standard fuel reserves, according to chief designer Vitaly Naryshkin. The aircraft also passed engine-out tests.

President Vladimir Putin got a firsthand look this week at the MS-21-310 during a visit to the Gromov Flight Research Institute near Moscow.

"This is a massive, long-term state order, one that will keep our factories, suppliers, and subcontractors busy for years," Putin said. "We must radically increase output and expand our airliner families."

The original target for the MS-21 was 6,350km. Then import substitution added weight. By 2024, the range had slumped to a projected 2,300km. Now, after testing, it's back up to nearly 4,000 and covers most of Russia's domestic network, from the European heartland to the Urals, much of Siberia, and southern routes.

Russia has been down this road before. The Superjet-100 launched in 2011 with a 2,400km range. Today, modified versions hit 3,500 km. The MS-21 will follow the same curve.

Of course, 4,000 kilometers won't get you from Moscow to Vladivostok or Kamchatka. But the MS-21 was never meant to be a long-haul bird. It's a medium-haul jet and for that role, it already delivers.

A 6,350km version can cover nearly all of European Russia, Siberia, and the Far East, but even at current range, airlines get a machine that works for the vast majority of routes with plenty of headroom to grow.

🚨🇷🇺 Russia’s Quantum Chip Pushes Beyond the Limits of Laser Vision

Rosatom’s Quantum Center teams, led by Igor Bilenko and Dmitry Chermoshentsev, just pushed quantum physics into new territory. They're the first in Russia, and among the first globally, to pack a source of quantum "squeezed" light, which allows to see what was once invisible, onto a single chip.

The secret is killing laser noise. Even the steadiest beam jitters at the quantum level, blurring out fine details. Boosting power only fries the sample with heat and photochemistry. So the scientists flipped the script by firing the laser into a custom material, where one high-energy photon splits into two entangled partners. These twins cancel out each other's noise and it cracks problems that were written off as physics' hard limits.

The potential breakthroughs are enormous. Ultra-sensitive medical sensors that peek inside living cells without destroying them. Early detection of cancer, neurological disorders at the very first signs. And beyond medicine, this is a stepping stone to photonic computers that could dwarf today's supercomputers by orders of magnitude.

Looking ahead, the team plans to develop full-scale quantum computing systems based on squeezed light, as well as ultra-sensitive biological sensors for practical medical use.

🚨🇨🇳 Silicon Showdown: China Rewires the Chip Race

China is steadily building momentum in its push to shake off US export controls on advanced chipmaking gear. One route is entirely homegrown lithography—researchers at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, have built a laser-produced plasma EUV light source that uses a solid-state laser instead of the carbon dioxide setup ASML relies on. It’s a clever patent workaround that sidesteps thousands of ASML’s protected designs.

Despite unproven allegations from Washington about a possible ASML EUV system reaching China, the Dutch company has firmly rejected the claims, emphasizing full control over its machines. The accusations appear to reflect growing US pressure rather than confirmed breaches.

Meanwhile, China is making tangible progress on its own capabilities. A domestically developed EUV prototype has reportedly been completed in Shenzhen, marking an important step toward breaking one of the most critical bottlenecks in advanced chipmaking. The effort signals that China is closing the gap through coordinated national focus.

Chinese researchers are also exploring alternative approaches, including solid-state laser systems that could bypass existing technological and patent barriers. If successful, this could open a parallel path in chipmaking innovation rather than simply replicating Western methods.

China is also moving quickly to maximize current capabilities. AI chipmakers are turning to 3D stacking technologies to boost performance using domestic manufacturing processes. Several firms have already reached key development milestones, backed by strong state and private investment.

Overall, China’s approach is not reliant on a single breakthrough but on sustained, multi-directional progress—building resilience, reducing vulnerabilities, and steadily advancing toward technological self-sufficiency.

🇮🇳🇷🇺 INDIA & RUSSIA MUST "DE-DOLLARIZE" TO REACH $100 BILLION TRADE – Moscow

Russia's trade representative to India, Zlata Antusheva, stated that creating an independent with local currencies is "extremely important" to achieve the $100 billion trade target by 2030.

💱 Most payments between Russia and India are already in local currencies – but a more robust mechanism is needed.

🏦 Three Russian banks (Sberbank, Gazprom Bank, VTB) already operate in India. Alfa Bank is set to join soon.

🌍 Goal: de‑dollarise at bilateral, regional, and BRICS levels – following the Russia‑China model, where Western currencies are essentially eliminated in bilateral trade.

🤝 An India‑Russia AI Cybersecurity Center of Excellence is in the works – to connect the AI ecosystem between the two countries and then extend it to other BRICS nations.

🇧🇷🚨 BRAZIL ALARMED: US "TERRORIST" LABEL – A Pretext for Invasion? 🇺🇸

Washington's designation of Brazil's two largest gangs as "terrorist organisations" has sparked a diplomatic warning: this could justify US military intervention on Brazilian soil.

Foreign Minister Vieira warned the label could give Washington sweeping powers, including "the possibility of the use of military force… on Brazilian territory."

🔴 The pattern: Maduro abducted over "narcoterrorism." Cuba blockaded. Now Brazilian gangs are "terrorists" – the same label used to justify invasions and regime change elsewhere.

🚨🇺🇸 The U.S. Payment Empire Cracks

When America's top trade official complained that Brazil's Pix system unfairly disadvantages Visa and Mastercard, Washington proposed a 25% tariff. Brazil's president shot back: "Pix is a Brazilian achievement and we will not give it up."

The episode reveals a new geopolitical reality. As Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warns that global access to the dollar is "no longer unconditional," countries are building their own financial defenses. The global payments system is splintering, and Visa and Mastercard are in the crosshairs.

Until recently, fear of Western-dominated payments was limited to U.S. adversaries. After sanctions cut Russia off, it built its own messaging network (SFPS) and card scheme (Mir). China followed with CIPS, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Bank of China has added dozens of countries to its digital-yuan system. CIPS hit record volumes in March, 920B yuan daily, up 20% year-on-year, and set a new single-day high of 1.2T yuan in April.

Others prefer bilateral deals. India's UPI system works in nine countries, with more on the way. "Our brand promises that we will make you sovereign," says NPCI International.

For now, most cross-border payments still touch American rails. But bilateral links between systems like Pix and UPI could shield significant flows from incumbents. In the medium term, Visa and Mastercard will feel the pinch.

Europe, a huge source of their business, is embracing "sovereign" systems that could erode their 50% operating margins. Both companies now cite domestic payments preference as a business risk. Investors have taken note that after a sustained climb, share prices have declined.

Visa is fighting back with €500M in European infrastructure. Mastercard is building three French data centres for €250M. But the broader consequences are sobering. Financial fragmentation could shave 2.6% off global GDP by 2030.

🚨🇺🇸🇧🇷 U.S. Tariff Attack Pushes Brazil Deeper Into BRICS

Washington expected 25% tariffs to force Brazil into compliance. Brasília instead denounced the move as political pressure and began looking for ways to reduce the leverage the U.S. still holds through access to its market.

The tariffs affect about $7B in Brazilian exports, including machinery, footwear, furniture, sugar and industrial goods. Coffee, meat, aircraft and energy products were largely spared, limiting the overall damage but hitting specific industries and regions.

China cannot provide a simple escape route. It is already Brazil’s largest trading partner, accounting for 28% of exports in a relationship worth $160B. But Beijing mainly buys soybeans, oil, iron ore, meat and other commodities. It will not automatically absorb the manufactured goods displaced from the U.S. market, and Chinese firms compete with Brazilian producers in many of those sectors.

Brazil therefore needs a wider BRICS network rather than another single point of dependence. Russia offers some of the largest untapped potential. In 2025, it supplied around 26% of Brazil’s imported fertilizers and 45% of its diesel — inputs essential to the country’s agricultural export machine. Cooperation could expand into energy, petrochemicals, machinery, nuclear technology, aviation, agricultural technology, trade insurance and direct settlements in reais and rubles.

Iran can contribute payment, clearing, insurance and transport mechanisms for trade outside Western-controlled systems. The UAE and Saudi Arabia bring capital, banks, investment funds, ports and logistics. Together, these partners could support alternative supply chains, credit channels and joint production without placing the entire system under one country.

Washington’s tariffs may therefore achieve the opposite of their purpose. They give Brazil a reason to build on BRICS’ existing economic foundations and accelerate the expansion of trade, payment and investment links across the bloc. The more the U.S. weaponizes market access, the faster Brazil will build economic channels beyond American control.

🚨🇨🇳🇷🇺 China and Russia Plan Fifth Rail Link to Break Winter Bottlenecks

China’s Heilongjiang province has launched a feasibility study for a railway connecting Heihe with Blagoveshchensk across the Amur River. If built, it would become the fifth cross-border rail link between China and Russia and connect northeastern China more directly with Russia’s Trans-Siberian network.

The route currently depends on a toll road bridge and river transport, whose capacity falls during harsh winter months. A rail crossing would add year-round freight capacity, reduce pressure on road-and-water transport, lower logistics costs and support trade with Russia’s Far East. The exact route, stations and funding have yet to be determined.

The project comes as bilateral trade expands rapidly. China–Russia trade rose 25.6% year on year to $134.1B in the first half of 2026. Russian energy and raw materials give China an additional buffer against disruptions in the Middle East, while Chinese cars, electronics and industrial goods have taken a growing share of the Russian market.

Infrastructure remains one of the main constraints. China and Russia use different railway gauges, forcing cargo to be reloaded or train wheelsets to be changed at the border. Officials are now discussing new crossings, closer network coordination and ways to reduce the delays caused by incompatible rail systems. A separate planned line between Zabaykalsk and Manzhouli may use international standard gauge.

The Heihe–Blagoveshchensk railway would not remove every bottleneck on its own. But each new bridge and rail crossing adds capacity, creates alternative routes and makes bilateral trade harder to disrupt. China and Russia are turning their political alignment into permanent transport infrastructure.
