Operation Global Chain targeted cases of sexual exploitation, forced criminality and forced begging

LYON, France – A large-scale joint operation against human trafficking has led to 219 arrests and the identification of 1,374 potential victims, including 153 children, across 39 countries.
Operation Global Chain (3 – 9 June 2024), which was led by Austria and coordinated by Romania, Europol, Frontex and INTERPOL, aimed to disrupt high-risk criminal networks, focusing on cases of sexual exploitation, forced criminality and forced begging.

A period of exceptionally, locally record-breakingly vicious winds will move into the core of Ireland during the early hours of Friday. Catastrophic effects are likely to result from these wind speeds where gusts become concentrated and prolonged on the western side of Ireland.
The core of this storm will move into Galway bay, producing wind gusts of 90-120mph. However, locally offshore, wind gusts may reach 125-130mph.
Counties Clare and Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Longford, Westmeath, North Kerry and North Limerick, will bear the brunt of the ferocious, catastrophically strong winds, with gusts here inland widely in excess of 90mph, though inland gusts of 100-115mph are likely in this area. This concentrated area may shift before the storm arrives on Friday. A wider area encompassing all of Ireland and Northern Ireland can expect a category of wind in the 75-95mph range, still powerful enough for significant effects. Wind gusts of atleast 75-95mph, noted within this wider area is a definite for all of Ireland and Northern Ireland now. There is also a strong likelihood, near definite for 80-90mph for Southern Scotland, the central belt of Scotland, and the Cumbria Coast, Isle of Man.
Initially from around 10pm Thursday evening, a wide area of 50-60mph winds will move into Ireland. Then from around 2am, a swathe of stronger winds; 80-90mph, will move into much of central and western Ireland. This also includes the south of Ireland. This swathe of 80-90mph winds will move over virtually all of Ireland, and Northern Ireland, during the early hours and morning of Friday. A more potent zone of winds producing gusts of 90-125mph will move into the central northern region of Ireland from around 4am, particularly Clare, Galway, however also affecting Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Westmeath and Longford.
This will continue for around 4-5hours.
These are record breaking wind gusts for this locale.
A zone of winds of 50-55mph will move through much of England and Wales during the morning period, 4-8am, then during the afternoon followed by a concentration of the stronger winds to North Wales, Northern England and Scotland. North of Leeds, wind gusts will widely reach 70-80mph, with wind gusts of 80-90mph likely concentrated around the central belt of Scotland. This will likely produce significant damage in this area.
Southern Scotland, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and North Wales will also see wind gusts of 70-80mph through Friday afternoon. This is strong enough to produce a more mild display of the effects Ireland will likely see.
