WOW!!! That is EXACTLY what I saw almost precisely 3 decades ago in Salinas, CA, About 2.5 hrs east of Fresno. I called a TV station in San Jose and they told me they'd been flooded with calls, and that they had heard it was Vandenbrrg AFB testing something. So I call the AFB, they deny testing anything. Next day in the paper they said it was spotted flying over California for about 45-60 mins in a triangular pattern between Santa Barbara (where Vandenburg is) up north to Sacramento, then back south to Fresno, Bakersfield, Santa Barbara. (And I saw it in Salinas which is by Monterey, so Central Coast.) It was about 4 am and it "I felt it" before u saw it. I looked up and suddenly the pitch black sky started getting light, light enough you could read a book by it. Then this orb came into view and passed over the horizon. It looked like a flying full moon. It had tail with different lights. Trippiest thing I've ever seen in my life!
