What an absolute beast of a sunspot that's been forming on the Sun, now soon to rotate off Earth-facing. A big explosion from the limb or just behind could trigger a powerful radiation storm on Earth, and it's possible that coincides with Earth-facing solar activity 👀

There are only about 25,000 elevator technicians in the entire U.S.

Let that sink in.

Now think about how many elevators exist:

• Apartments
• Hospitals
• Hotels
• Office buildings
• Airports

Every single one needs maintenance… forever.

Now here’s where it gets interesting:

Elevator techs make $100k on average
Top earners clear $150k+
With overtime in big cities? Even higher.

And the “training pipeline” everyone talks about?

It’s not 4 years of college.

It’s:

• Apprenticeship programs
• Trade-based training
• Earn while you learn

So let me get this straight…

We’re telling 18 year olds to take on $100k+ in debt…

Instead of pointing them toward a career where they can make six figures fixing elevators?

Here’s the controversial part:

The shortage isn’t because the job is bad.

It’s because no one is telling kids this path exists.

We’ve marketed college.

We’ve ignored trades like this.

And now we have a massive gap.

In 10–15 years?

IRIDESCENT CLOUD + HALO IN ONE FRAME — and it almost doesn’t feel real 🌌

At first glance, it looks like heavy editing… but the colors are actually sitting on the cloud edge, not painted into the sky. That soft rainbow glow is cloud iridescence, created when tiny water droplets (or uniform ice crystals) scatter sunlight into delicate pastel bands 🌈☁️

Above it, a faint giant arc stretches across the sky — a halo effect formed higher in the atmosphere by ice crystals refracting sunlight in a completely different way 🌙

Two separate layers, two optical phenomena, one breathtaking moment. Nature accidentally composing art in real time 🌍💫

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Two confirmed cases of rabies in Elmore and Lee counties are prompting an urgent request for residents to get their pets vaccinated.
On Wednesday, the Alabama Department of Public Health said testing found that a fox in Elmore County and a racoon in Lee County both tested positive for the disease.
ADPH said that on May 1, it was reported that the fox came out of a wooded area and attacked a person in Tallassee. The victim is being treated.
The strange-acting raccoon was found near Auburn around the same time, ADPH said.

“Rabies is not seasonal, and we continue to see cases year-round, but late spring is a time when activity peaks, particularly in wildlife,” said Dr. Dee W. Jones, State Public Health Veterinarian for ADPH.
