🇭🇹 Milot, Haiti (April 11) At least 30 people, many of them school-age children as young as 12, were killed in a tragic stampede at Haiti’s historic Citadelle Laferrière fortress during a large gathering advertised on TikTok.
Heavy rains triggered panic among thousands of visitors — mostly young people and students — causing a deadly crush at the fortress gates. The majority of victims died from asphyxiation and trampling, according to Milot Mayor Wesner Joseph, who spoke to the Miami Herald.
