A former civilian employee at Fort Bragg has been arrested on charges of providing classified information to a journalist.
According to an August 2025 article by Seth Harp in Politico, Courtney Williams served four years in the Army and was then hired at age 24 by K2 Solutions for a role supporting the Army's SFOD-D Delta Force. She worked as a signature reduction specialist, controlling alias documentation for operators traveling worldwide. Other responsibilities included flying to California to purchase $10,000 worth of new cell phones straight from the manufacturer.

According to the Department of Justice's indictment, At some point in either 2015 or 2016 her security clearance was suspended following an internal investigation, and she left the unit shortly thereafter.

Between January 2022 and August 2025, Williams allegedly communicated information classified as SECRET//NOFORN, specifically tactics, techniques, and procedures used by Delta Force to Seth Harp.
Harp then published his book The Fort Bragg Cartel, which examined a string of deaths and allegations of drug trafficking by members of Army Special Forces and other elite units. In the book and the associated article for Politico, he cites Williams multiple times as a source of information.

The FBI also linked Williams and Harp via phone records including calls, text messages, voicemails and Williams' saved contacts.
Besides information regarding the unit's tactics, techniques, and procedures, Williams also described an environment where sexual harassment and unprofessional behavior were rampant. When Williams filed a formal grievance against a unit officer, her career took an immediate downturn, leading to her eventual exit.
After the article and book were published, Williams sent text messages to Harp which stated in part:
"After quickly reading through everything I will just say I wish you had sent me a copy of what was to be published prior to publishing. Other than a few factual errors, I would definitely have been concerned with the amount of classified information being disclosed."
Williams' current charge against carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
