SAUGATUCK, MI — Authorities say “several thousand pounds” of tiny plastic pellets spilled from a semi-trailer last month and some have entered the Kalamazoo River.
A northbound semitrailer began spilling plastic pellets near the south end of the I-196 bridge over the river near Saugatuck during a blizzard, according to the state.
