AIRMONT, New York

A pothole turned into a large sinkhole Saturday night and temporarily shut down part of Route 59 in Airmont.

Officials say the road had to be closed bw Brookside and Campbell Ave due to the hole expanding.

Highway department crews were called to the scene and began repairs. The roadway was reopened by 11:55 p.m.

WILMINGTON, Ohio

Police in Wilmington say that a canopy at a Sunoco gas station collapsed on Sunday.

The first call about the collapse came into them at 12:05 p.m. at the gas station, which is located on South Street.

One of the canopy's 4 support poles was seen by WLWT to have fallen over.

Officers say that the cause of the collapse still remains unknown.
