A Kia van was coming out of the driveway of a Park St house at Hyde Park about 5.30am on Sunday when the road opened up beneath it and its wheels sunk deep into the sinkhole.
The car’s 2 occupants were uninjured but the street will be closed to traffic while SA Water repair the infrastructure.

An explosion at a house following a wedding reception in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad has killed at least 8 people, police said on Sunday.
Local authorities said that the blast, which is believed to have been caused by a gas leak, took place as members of the wedding party gathered at a house in a residential area in the capital.
Both the bride and groom and other family members were killed in the incident, while 2 neighbors also died.
Some nearby homes were also damaged and that routes in the area had been closed to help emergency services operate.
The official said an investigation to determine whether it was a gas cylinder or an explosion due to a gas leak, was currently underway.

A popular trail at a New Jersey park has been closed after a rockslide tossed chunks of debris from a cliff, offering scenic views of the Hudson River and New York City.
According to Palisades Interstate Park officials, a rockslide was triggered along the park's "Giant Stairs" around 8:15 a.m. on Friday.
The rockslide impacted about 50 yards, closing the Shore Trail, famed for its panoramic views overlooking the Hudson River from the steep Palisades Cliffs.
Hikers have been urged to avoid the area, as park staff continues to assess the situation.

Huge power outage in fulton due to Sub fire. Firefighters and ambulance now at Denny Os bar, have road blocked off.
Update: They were at the bar because of a pole that was leaning alot and a wire had come down. Everyone is fine.
The fire has long been put out and was at the substation on 17ave. Power should all be back on. If any further issues please contact your electrician.

A massive fire broke out Saturday night in oil pipelines in the al-Furqlus area of eastern Homs province in Syria.
The Syrian Civil Defense said in a brief statement on its platform on X that its teams are working to extinguish the fire and secure the area.
It wrote, "A large fire broke out in the oil pipelines east of the Furqlus area in the eastern countryside of Homs, this Saturday evening, January 10. Teams from the Syrian Civil Defense in the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management are working to extinguish the fire and secure the area."

Power was restored after a brief outage at Memphis International Airport Sunday morning, officials said.
Airport officials said they operated on generator power during the outage around sunrise.
MLGW said an equipment issue caused the outage just after 6:40 a.m. and crews restored the power shortly afterward.
Officials said the outage did not significantly impacts to operations.

More than 230 customers were without electricity at 9 a.m. Sunday morning following a series of early-morning transformer explosions along the railroad tracks running parallel to Lupine Road.
The explosions occurred around 4:44 a.m. and left thousands of customers in Andover without power.
Tyler Bishop, who owns T&B Landscaping, provided the following security camera footage from the company’s headquarters on Lupine Road.
Bishop said an initial explosion was followed by 3 loud, additional explosions in the one minute clip.
A spokesperson for National Grid was not immediately available Sunday morning.
There were no reports of injuries, but some residents reported appliance damage in social media posts. “Blew my refrigerator this morning. Anyone know of a cheap appliance repair person?” one woman wrote.
