VICTOR VALLEY, Calif.— A loud rumble accompanied by doors, windows, and homes rattling was reported by numerous High Desert residents at approximately 1:13 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

As of now, no official earthquake has been confirmed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

Reports came in from across the region, including Adelanto, Piñon Hills, Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley, Oak Hills, Barstow, and Lancaster.
