According to CALFIRE, as of Wednesday evening, the fire had burned an area of 5,500 hectares.

The fire destroyed several buildings in the town of China Camp. China Camp is a historic town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, with a history dating back to the California Gold Rush.
