Portugal Tram Crash: At Least 15 Killed After Tourist Tram Goes Off Track on a Hill and Slams Into Building in Lisbon

Footage from the scene showed the tram-like funicular, which carries passengers up and down a hillside in Lisbon, in ruins as emergency workers pulled victims from the wreckage.

HOPATCONG, New Jersey

A flash of light followed by an explosion early Tuesday rattled residents in parts of Northern New Jersey, but police and other officials say they are unsure of the source.

The blast occurred at 1:54 a.m. and was captured on several home security video cameras in and around Hopatcong.

“There were multiple locations around town where people reported a flash in the sky and a loud boom.”

Police responded to complaints and investigated the source of the noise, but didn’t find evidence of damage from fireworks or other types of explosion.

Picatinny Arsenal said the noise did not come from their installation. There was also no evidence of a meteor over the state at the time the boom was heard.
