Metra Electric service will continue to be impacted Friday morning after a fire at the University Park substation on Thursday afternoon.
As a result, all Metra Electric trains will continue to originate and terminate at the Matteson Station due to the power problems impacting the Richton Park and University Park stations.
Metra said they and ComEd are working to restore power to the substation.

Southern Mexico was rocked overnight by a rapid swarm of earthquakes along the Oaxaca fault margin — one of the most dangerous seismic zones in the Americas. Multiple quakes struck both onshore and offshore within hours, signaling intense tectonic pressure shifts.
At the same time, powerful tremors rattled Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, and Panama, making this one of the most globally active seismic nights in recent memory.
