Hey space enthusiasts! The Sun's playing hide-and-seek with just a handful of spots today, but that didn't stop a marathon M-flare from stealing the show—plus, solar winds are revving up for potential aurora vibes. Here's the stellar rundown:
Sunspot Number: 73 – Only four tiny groups, leaving the disk nearly blank and flares on simmer.
Recent Flares: C1-class at 0725 UT today; M1-class peaked at 0439 UT over 24 hours—a long-duration beast from AR4188 lasting 3+ hours, possibly hurling a CME our way.
Flare Odds: Slim at 5% for M-class, 1% for X-class today—same low odds holding into tomorrow. 💥
Geomagnetic Status: Peaceful at Kp 2.67, with a 24-hour max of 3.00.
Aurora Outlook: High latitudes primed with 65% severe storm chance today (55% tomorrow)—mid-latitudes eyeing 10% severe today, dropping to 5%. Coronal hole winds arriving could amp the lights! 🌌
