Iran’s parliament has voted to close the Strait of Hormuz, the vital shipping channel through which around 20% of the world’s daily oil flows.
The move, which could block $1 billion in oil shipments per day, is likely to send oil prices soaring.
It will come into effect pending a final decision by Iran’s Supreme Council.

A man rammed his truck straight through the front of a church, stepped out with a rifle, and opened fire on the congregation.
Multiple people were hit before a security guard dropped him on the spot.
Authorities are still counting the injured.
Motive? Unknown.
But this wasn’t random it was targeted, violent, and fast.
The only reason this isn't a massacre: someone inside was armed, ready, and didn’t wait for backup.
