Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel, a Democrat, on Wednesday indicated that he was open to returning to Washington, D.C., as the commander-in-chief in 2028, stating he was "in training" for the next election.

Emanuel is a powerful figure in Democratic politics, having served as the Ambassador to Japan under the Biden administration, and as White House chief of staff during the Obama administration. He also represented Illinois in the House for two terms, and was the mayor of Chicago from 2011-2019. 

The Democrat did not specifically state that he was running, but appeared to try to sound presidential during an interview with ABC's "The View."

Neuralink, Elon Musk's brain-computer interface company, is launching a clinical trial in the UAE — and the announcement came just one day before President Donald Trump arrived in the country.

The company said on Wednesday that it's partnering with the Cleveland Clinic for a clinical trial in Abu Dhabi, its first outside of the US. Called UAE-Prime, the clinical trial will focus on how individuals with motor and speech impairment "can use thought to control devices & communicate," according to a post on X.

Just one day prior, Musk announced that Starlink, his satellite internet company that's a part of SpaceX, had been approved for maritime and aviation use in Saudi Arabia.

The FBI’s Washington Field Office is folding its federal public corruption squad, the same unit that aided Jack Smith’s special counsel investigation into President Donald Trump, three people familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

The field office has three units that work on public corruption issues, but this one — known internally as "CR15" — was deeply involved in the bureau’s "Arctic Frost" investigation, which was the precursor to the Smith probe into efforts to “overturn” the 2020 election results by Trump and his allies. That investigation resulted in one of the two federal criminal cases against Trump, both of which were dropped after his election.
