Michigan: Police have confirmed that a Muskegon Heights officer was shot and injured Monday, May 5.

The shooting is believed to have occurred about 7:35 a.m. in the 2300 block of Baker Street, near East Barney Avenue.

Muskegon Heights Police Chief Maurice Sain told WOODTV that the officer’s injury was not life-threatening.

Police said they expect to release more information on the shooting later today.
