EVANSVILLE, Indiana
Road closures in Downtown Evansville now extend to a portion of Riverside Dr, where city officials said "a large sinkhole" had formed in the roadway's WB lanes on Monday.
Evansville Water and Sewer Utility spokeswoman Ella Johnson-Watson wrote in an afternoon news release that both WB lanes were "closed to all traffic bw Cherry St and Chestnut St" while workers investigated the depression in the roadway, which appeared to have cracked a stretch of asphalt.
The section of road will remain closed while crews determine the cause of the sinkhole and complete repairs.
