U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration said on Friday it has granted a liquefied natural gas export license to the Commonwealth LNG project in Louisiana, the first approval of LNG exports after former President Joe Biden paused them early last year.

The exports are approved to go to markets in Asia and Europe.

🇺🇸 US embassy boasts (Oct, 2024) about using USAID to change 30 of Uzbekistan's laws (and 50 of its University courses) to have the country adopt DC cultural views on gender. A quest for universal human rights, an attempt to coopt minorities, or "woke" imperialism?

Regardless of the merits of these actions, consider the effect of Saudi Arabia's embassy in DC publicly boasting about changing 30 US laws and 50 US university courses to install its cultural values on sex and gender.

I don't know, but what I do know is that high fertility groups in the West don't seem to have experienced the fertility decline seen elsewhere in the past decade.

In the graph I used Pennsylvania Dutch as a proxy for Amish, and Yiddish as a proxy for Ultra Orthodox Jews in the US.

Larsmo is used as a proxy for Finnish Laestadians.

I know that this technique has limitations, but still helps to have a grasp of the current trends.

If anything, Amish TFR seems to have plateaued between 5 and 6, with Ultra Orthodox Jews even higher
