Miserere mei Deus

“Miserere” by Gregorio Allegri, composed in seventh century and famously performed in Sisten Chapel, restricted to be the treasure of the Catholic liturgy. Mozart famously transcribed it by memory.

Another famous song would be
“Exsultate Jubilate” a motet composed by Wolfgang A. Mozart performed in sacred settings of chapels sometime in 1773.

Beethoven’s “Hammerklavier” sonata. He wrote the sonata during his own personal struggles at the time, not for the chapel, but the piano.

Bach and the “St. Mathew Passion” composed in 1727. It was initially performed it during Holy Week. Over time, it gained much wider recognition to become a sacred work of monumental piece in Western history of music.
