Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is abandoning a significant pledge it made to refuse initial public offering business with companies that had all White, male boards.

Wall Street’s leading investment bank had a policy that it would only take a company public in the US or Western Europe if it included two diverse board members, one of whom must be a woman. The rule had initially been put in place in 2020 with a requirement for at least one diverse board member.

“As a result of legal developments related to board diversity requirements, we ended our formal board diversity policy,” said Tony Fratto, a spokesperson for Goldman Sachs. “We continue to believe that successful boards benefit from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and we will encourage them to take this approach.”

The pledge was made at a time when much of corporate America was swept up in the fervor to champion diversity. Large asset management firms like BlackRock Inc. were voting against directors at companies without a female board member.

Davis is said to have taken his role so seriously that he slept at the Twitter headquarters with his partner and their newborn at the time.

At Boring, he signed off on costs as low as a few hundred dollars, according to the Los Angeles Times, and has been known to drive hard bargains with suppliers.

So, when Musk recently brought him on to oversee hiring for DOGE, shock waves were felt across Washington as the Tesla CEO executes Donald Trump's campaign pledge to cut government spending.

A group of House Republicans is pushing to give President Trump more control over the federal spending process, as his administration continues to crack down on funding that does not align with the GOP agenda.

Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., is leading legislation to repeal the Impoundment Control Act, a 1974 Nixon-era law aimed at stopping the president from having unilateral say over government spending.

It would give Trump greater ability to accomplish his goals for Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Clyde told Fox News Digital in an interview.
