15 passengers on a CTA Green Line train were rescued after the train derailed early Monday, according to the Chicago FD.
3 people were taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center following the derailment, according to officials.
The FD responded about 2:37 a.m. to a derailment on the Green Line Englewood extension around 63rd St & Normal, according to FD spokesperson Larry Langford.
The derailment caused service to be temporarily suspended bw Garfield & Ashland/63rd, according to the CTA.
“The train became stalled due to a problem with the rear wheels, we’re told,” Langford said, explaining that the rear wheels lost contact with the track on one of the cars.
The FD rescued people with a special ladder truck that has a platform attached.

There were delays in and out of South Station Monday morning after an MBTA commuter rail car derailed at the Readville train yard.
Officials from Keolis, which operates the commuter rail, said a single coach came off the tracks in a slow-speed, upright derailment. They believe the derailment was related to snow and ice building up a switch.
There were no passengers on the train and no one was hurt.
The derailed coach was blocking the tracks in and out of the yard and caused delays, but officials said as of 11 a.m. the equipment has been removed and normal service had resumed.

FDNY crews were called to respond to multiple exploding manhole covers in Gravesend Monday just after 12 p.m.
FDNY told News 12 that multiple customers lost power in the area, as Con Ed crews worked to restore service throughout Monday afternoon.
Witnesses describe seeing the manholes releasing smoke, before the cover was blown off, with a brief fiery explosion.
No injuries were reported.

A manhole fire at 101 North 5th Street in Williamsburg caused dangerously high carbon monoxide levels, making it necessary to evacuate 2 nearby 6-story residential buildings Sunday night.
Emergency responders, including FDNY, Con Edison, and NYPD, quickly addressed the situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Residents were evacuated as a precaution, and the area was ventilated until it was deemed safe to return.

The explosion of a sewer dt accumulation in the Madero neighborhood, caused the evacuation of 127 people & damage to a vehicle that was parked a few meters from the sewer.
"We have more than 40 properties evacuated at the moment from Brazil to Colima to Batopilas and Aguascalientes, towards the westernmost part.”
At 11:45 a.m. today, residents & merchants in the area heard a loud rumble near the Madero brewery & the Mantequilla restaurant.
The noise and the fall of concrete stones on vehicles & shops, caused the fact to be reported to the authorities.
The first responders were the elements of the Tijuana FD, who found a sewer located on the sidewalk at the corner bw Brasil Ave & Colima St had exploded.
Despite the fact that the concrete that covered the sewer was shot in stones towards the public road, where there were shops & pedestrians, no one was injured.

SHARP CO., Arkansas
Residents across Sharp Co have been hearing what they described as a booming sound.
“My husband and I were in the kitchen, and it sounded like something fell on our roof,” said Darlene Karvelius.
Karveius said they first heard the boom on Thurs, Feb. 6, and it wasn’t the only one they heard that day.
“Then we heard another one, but it was in a different spot, so it wasn’t the roof,” said Karvelius. “Then we heard a third one ..”
Karvelius added that they even heard one boom on Fri, Feb. 7, when she was over at a friend’s house.
Another resident of the Sharp Co area, Steven Wiley, heard the boom over Sat, Feb. 8. Wiley saw online that it could be from an earthquake.
K8 News contacted the Arkansas Geological Survey, only for them to say that “this was the first time they had heard about it.”
So, for now, the booms heard across Sharp Co remain a mystery.
