Sri Lanka
A monkey has been blamed for causing a nationwide blackout in Sri Lanka.
The island nation's 22 million residents were mostly left without power during the outage, which began around 11am local time (5.30am GMT) on Sunday.
The country's energy minister, Kumara Jayakody, told reporters that the blackout was caused when a monkey came into contact with a grid transformer near the island's executive and judicial capital, Colombo.
Power was returned to some areas within hours, but many households were without electricity until late on Sunday.

I-80 is closed in Wharton, New Jersey as crews investigate a possible sinkhole.
Chopper 2 flew over the scene and did not find an obvious hole on the roadway, but officials say they are conducting emergency maintenance at the scene of an earlier sinkhole that opened up there last December.
All EB lanes are closed at Exit 34. Drivers should use Route 46 as an alternative. As of 8 a.m., traffic was backed up for 8 miles to Exit 27.
A massive 40-foot sinkhole opened up on I-80 in late December, and the EB lanes were closed for nearly 4 days.
The DOT said the sinkhole was caused by an abandoned mineshaft that collapsed underneath the highway.
