Plane owned by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil crashes in Scottsdale, Arizona, leaving 1 person dead and at least 3 injured; no word yet on whether Neil was on board

DETAILS: Vince Neil's private Learjet 35A was involved in a fatal collision at Scottsdale Municipal Airport.

The jet veered off the runway and struck a Gulfstream 200 parked on the ramp around 2:45 p.m. local time. According to the FAA, four people were aboard the Learjet and one on the Gulfstream.

One person has died, while three others were injured, two critically.

Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio confirmed rescue efforts are ongoing to extricate one person from the wreckage.

“I can tell you we have five souls, one DOA, two immediate [critical condition patients] that have been transported to local trauma centers. One delayed [non-life threatening injuries] stable to a local hospital. This is still an active scene. We are still working on extricating one soul out of one of the airplanes,”

The FAA has temporarily halted flights at the airport, and investigations by the FAA and NTSB are underway, with the NTSB taking the lead.

Sri Lanka

A monkey has been blamed for causing a nationwide blackout in Sri Lanka.

The island nation's 22 million residents were mostly left without power during the outage, which began around 11am local time (5.30am GMT) on Sunday.

The country's energy minister, Kumara Jayakody, told reporters that the blackout was caused when a monkey came into contact with a grid transformer near the island's executive and judicial capital, Colombo.

Power was returned to some areas within hours, but many households were without electricity until late on Sunday.
