Was it on fire?

Two people were aboard the plane, according to police. It's unclear at this time if they were ejected or able to escape. There are several injuries reported on the ground, police added.

Multiple homes are on fire in the area of Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard following the crash, fire officials said. 

Police sources told CBS News Philadelphia's Chief Investigative Reporter Joe Holden that parts of the plane hit cars in the area. Some businesses near the Roosevelt Mall are on fire, sources said. 

Neighbors in the Northeast Philadelphia area have called CBS Philadelphia reporting their homes shook when the plane went down.

Hey there. So wanted to share it would seem the local police are all out and about in my town. I mean it is the end of the month so usually a few are trying to make there quota but not like what I'm witnessing.
I'm just 20 min outside that area. Figured I'd let you decide how to share that Intel. It is noticeable how they are all out and positioned tonight.

UPDATE: Philadelphia Plane Crash

The FAA says “Two people were on board and was departing from NW Philadelphia Airport

The Learjet was on route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri.

NTSB to lead investigation.

2 and 6 people on the plane has been the numbers given. Until we have names, there's no really knowing.

🇺🇸⚡️- A person was seen emerging from the crash site on fire. It is not known if the individual shown survived, or if the person was on the plane.

Jet Rescue Air Ambulance confirms its plane crashed in Philadelphia with 6 people on board, including pediatric patient
