BOLINGBROOK, Illinois
An investigation is underway after a house explosion in the south suburbs on Monday afternoon, fire officials said.
The Bolingbrook FD said someone inside a home in the 100-block of Oxford Drive reported hearing an explosion and seeing a fire around 4:45 p.m.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene and quickly extinguished a small fire.
The explosion significantly damaged the home, which authorities deemed unsafe to enter.
No injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded to a blaze at an electrical substation in Rialto Monday night.
Flames were seen coming from the station near the intersection of Alder Avenue and Sierra Lakes Parkway shortly before 11 p.m. It is unclear what started the fire.
No injuries were reported in connection with the blaze. The extent of the damage is unclear.
