UPDATE: Preliminary indication is that we had an oxygen/fuel leak in the cavity above the ship engine firewall that was large enough to build pressure in excess of the vent capacity.

Apart from obviously double-checking for leaks, we will add fire suppression to that volume and probably increase vent area. Nothing so far suggests pushing next launch past next month.

In this update from CALFIRE on the Los Angeles wildfires, Deputy State Fire Marshal Brice Bennett highlights the swift response of firefighters in extinguishing 10 new fire starts within California’s red flag areas over the last 24 hours.

We also share updates on the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire, including mop-up operations and suppression repair, the ongoing efforts to help displaced residents return home as quickly and safely as possible, and more on the continued damage assessments.

There have now been 27 confirmed deaths from the fires in LA County, 10 from the Palisades and 17 from the Eaton.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Sheriff Deputies have conducted 36 arrests within the Eaton Fire Zone for various charges, including theft, firearms, curfew and narcotics violations.

Deputies are diligently working through the night to keep disaster workers and residences of the evacuees secure until they can return home.

LASD is enforcing a curfew in evacuation order zones and there is absolutely zero tolerance for looters.
