Climate change strikes again

Another shameless firestarter was caught by neighborhood cameras in Melrose, LA on Monday, but has not yet been identified.

Firefighters are battling a brush fire currently burning close to homes in Jurupa Valley near the Santa Ana Riverbed.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) National Response Team (NRT) has been deployed to investigate the cause of the Pacific Palisades fire.

Our Department has recently been activated on the 12/12 deployment schedule to assist with the recent fires in the Los Angeles region.  

We are sending our B shift personnel Code 3 response to the Eaton fires to help our mutual aid partners and the local community.  

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected in this very unfortunate and tragic event.

Requesting 2 additional type 3 engines to respond to the River Ridge Golf Course area to prevent the fire from getting into some large mulch piles and a cinderblock building.

UPDATE: VCFD along with Ventura City Fire and Oxnard Fire Are on scene of a brush fire in the river bottom off North Ventura Blvd in Ventura.

The fire is currently at 5 acres in medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread. Approximately 75 firefighters are on scene working to stop forward spread of the fire.

The 11-acre fire burning along the Santa Ana River bed is NOT threatening homes.

🇺🇸 Dramatic moments in Worcester, Massachusetts over the weekend when manholes started smoking and then exploding underneath 290 near Grafton St sending covers launching into the air…the cause is still under investigation.

The Worcester Fire Department was already at the scene after a report of a smoking manhole. No injuries were reported.
