BREAKING🔥🇺🇸: Flags at the U.S. Capitol will fly at full-staff during President-elect Trump's inauguration despite President Biden's directive that they remain at half-staff through January to honor Jimmy Carter's death.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and some Republican governors are promising to fly flags at full-staff Monday after Trump repeatedly complained about them being lowered for his swearing in.

Johnson announced Tuesday that flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff for the inauguration and then return to half-staff the next day in honor of Carter.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) both ordered that flags at state buildings be flown at full-staff on Inauguration Day.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg warned employees Tuesday that the company is planning to push out “low performers” faster — a move that will lead to thousands of job cuts in a layoff that could affect 5 percent of the company.

Zuckerberg said he has decided to “raise the bar on performance management,” as the company forges ahead in building out new AI-powered services and immersive devices, according to a memo posted internally and seen by The Washington Post.

“This is going to be an intense year, and I want to make sure we have the best people on our team,” Zuckerberg wrote.

Meta confirmed that these new policies will lead to a dramatic staff cut, trimming back roughly 5 percent of the company’s workforce. Zuckerberg told rank-and-file workers that those being cut will be notified on Feb. 10 and will receive “generous severance,” according to the memo. Zuckerberg said the company expects to backfill the jobs of workers who were cut in 2025.
