3. HUGE power bills (Remember TX? They were getting 3-4x normal bills--thousands of dollars! 😳)
4. Grid Strain--area affected is HUGE. How long to recover? What if there's permanent damage?
Short version: People MUST have a back-up, non-electric source of heat. Wood stoves, flowerpot heaters, insulation--whatever. Every bit will help keep the power bill down and might save lives. No joke. 🔥

If you remember the 2009/2010 economic contraction in Phoenix, 2025/2026 remains on track to be at least as severe. Over the last two weeks I've seen more liquidation auctions than I've seen collectively over the last year, maybe even two.
Last month Boeing, Nikola, Merson, and Microchip (at a minimum) had big layoffs of Phoenix metro area workers. Also last month, both Party City and Big Lots with signifcant presence in the Phoenix metro area went into bankruptcy.
Layoffs, business closures, and business liquidations are only some of the data points suggesting 2025 is going to be an unprecedented surge in demand for social safety net services.
I hope our non-profits can figure out how to utilize existing technology to connect, collaborate, reduce waste, and do their best to meet demand as 2025 unfolds.
We live in extraordinary times.
