'Life-threatening' typhoon charges towards Philippines

After Typhoon Usagi became the fifth major storm to strike the country in the last month, typhoon Man-yi is set to deliver "life-threatening" storm surges and severe impact.

The recent wave of natural disasters has killed at least 159 people in the country.

10 newborns killed in India neonatal ICU tragedy

A further 16 babies were left in critical condition after a fire ripped through a neonatal unit holding 54 infants in Uttar Pradesh state on Friday night, according to Times Now.

The blaze spread particularly rapidly after sparking from some equipment designed to enrich oxygen levels according to local reports.

Eyewitness reports suggested that it took 30 minutes for firefighting efforts to respond to the fire.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: A suspect is in custody following a deadly shooting and subsequent arson fire in the Antelope Valley overnight. 

According to a bulletin released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department early Saturday morning, detectives responded to the 44500 block of North Tabler Avenue in Lancaster at 1: 27 a.m. Saturday. It is believed that a party was being held at the home at the time.
