LOUISVILLE, Kentucky

A loud boom heard throughout Louisville on Tuesday was from a large explosion in the Clifton neighborhood, leaving nearly a dozen people injured.

We're told the explosion happened around 3 p.m. at the Givaudan Sense Colour facility in the 1900 block of Payne St near Pope St. Part of the building collapsed.

The mayor said around 4:30 p.m. that everyone is accounted for and there are no fatalities. They did say one person who was trapped was rescued.

He said at least 11 people were taken to local hospitals, all employees. Their conditions were not immediately available. First responders also set up a triage area near the scene.

Nelson, BC - Canada

A train derailed in Nelson on Tuesday morning, but police say there were no injuries and traffic is once again moving.

The derailment occurred below the intersection of Ward and Front Streets, but access to Lakeside Drive via Hall Street has since been cleared to traffic.

THE BRONX, NYC, New York

Fire officials said a transformer explosion happened at an Amtrak substation on Bronxdale Ave near East Tremont Ave in Parkchester around 2 p.m.

"There was a big explosion. You could literally see the fire in the sky, like huge. It was just like pop, and then like everything looked like it burst into flames," witness De'lyn Williams-Negron said.

According to fire officials, the flames spread to brush, then a nearby Con Edison facility. 3 cars in that parking lot also caught fire.

Residents in the area are urged to close their windows and avoid the smoke. Drivers and commuters should expect traffic delays. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Because of the fire, Amtrak had to shut down power at the substation.

As a result, all service bw New York Penn Station & New Haven has been suspended for the rest of the day. It is unknown when service will be restored.

The Israel Police and the Airports Authority will hold an exercise simulating an emergency in Israel on Tuesday morning to promote operational readiness, they announced in a statement on Monday.

The exercise will occur from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Israeli airspace.

The police warned that there may be changes in traffic arrangements for short periods of time, and there will be increased traffic of police vehicles and emergency and rescue vehicles, as well as explosive sounds and pyrotechnics, per the exercise outline.

The police asked the public to obey the instructions, and as necessary, the police will issue update accordingly.

Peddapalli, India

11 wagons of goods train carrying iron ore derailed in Telangana on Tuesday night, causing disruptions to passenger train services.

The incident occurred bw Raghavapuram and Ramagundam stations in the Peddapalli district, South Central Railway (SCR) officials reported.

This derailment led to the cancellation of 20 passenger trains. 4 trains were partially cancelled, and authorities diverted 10 others. 2 trains have been rescheduled, and 3 are running under regulation.
