We are now just over two weeks away from the United States election. It's getting spicier and spicier! Take this time to pick up preps, check for holes in your preps, plan for water purification and rainwater catchment, fuel/ energy, home defense etc.
Adding a fuel siphon to your shopping list might not be a bad idea either. 😉

What do you use to communicate with your children if TSHTF and cell phones are out. No land lines.
I operate a total of six GMRS and ham repeaters with at least a 60-80 mile service radius. All the cars have radios.
The repeaters are backed by battery and generators.
The house has 10kw of solar and 20kwh of battery.
There is a plan. The kids have basic CERT training, radio training, first aid and CPR.
I have that plus EMR.
My wife is just relying on the rest of us.

Long ago, ok about 15-20 years ago, as a single Mom with a houseful of teens coming and going, I kept a list in the bathroom closet for every scenario you could think of and directions for what to do. If you smell rotten eggs, get out of the house immediately and call the fire department. The difference between how to put out a grease fire and regular fire. If there’s a fire, get out and meet at the neighbors across the street mailbox. If there’s an immediate threat in our neighborhood, grab your go bag and head to the Shaffers house. If there’s a territorial threat in our county….
I even had directions for if you’re away and I have to leave home before you get back, there’s a tin can buried by the most northern close line pole with instructions.
My son’s been in the Army now, so my apprentice has become the master and he gives the instructions now. He’s about a month away from finishing his degree in Gunsmithing!!!
