Italy opposes Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory - PM Meloni
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Tuesday that she understands the "decisions of others" on strikes from Ukraine, but Italy has made a "different choice" with bipartisan support.
Her statement comes a day after Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani repeated Rome’s stance against Kiev using Italian-supplied weapons for similar strikes - and for an inclusive peace conference including Russia, China, India and other key stakeholders.

Hong Kong jails 45 campaigners on subversion charges
Hong Kong’s largest national security trial saw sentences ranging from four to 10 years for all 45 campaigners on the stand for their role in organizing an unofficial primary election in 2020.
Had their plan succeeded, they theoretically could have vetoed the government's budget to eventually force the resignation of then Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
The court, however, rejected the defendants' claim that their election was legal, asserting that the plan could have led to a constitutional crisis.

Police said that the suspects entered the gas stations wearing masks, dressed in dark clothing, armed with firearms and then stole merchandise and cash before fleeing in stolen vehicles.
